The toolkit is a website that provides information about the job market in all 50 states to help young people make informed decisions about their career path. For example, it lists the fastest growing jobs that require some education or training after high school. It also notes the college majors with the best local employment prospects. Both are useful pieces of information for a young person looking to ensure job security after finishing school.
In addition to providing information, Skills that Work connects users to resources that can help young people find a school or work. Many of the 35 partner organizations provide services geared toward helping people add skills to help them achieve their economic goals.
Though the toolkit takes a step toward closing serious information gaps, more work remains to get our generation back to work and back on track. Join us in that work, and tell your friends about the toolkit!
